Gratitude

I am grateful to the people here for their support of my work and to the organizations in the list below for the gift of time, funding, or both.

Grants

  • Empower Digital
This organization supports small businesses in Massachusetts and provided the grant that made this website possible.

Residencies

  • Monson Arts
Thanks to the vision of the forward-thinking Libra Foundation, Monson Arts hosts ten artists and writers ten months of the year and provides each one with a stipend, meals, housing, and a workspace. Located on Lake Hebron Monson, ME is the last town on the Appalachian Mountain Trail before the 100-Mile Wilderness to Mt. Katahdin.

  • Hedgebrook

A writing retreat for women identifying authors, Hedgebrook is known for its radical hospitality and commitment to women’s stories. Located on Whidbey Island in Washington State, Hedgebrook offers two- to four-week residencies.

Scholarships

  • Simmons University
    Toward the MS/LIS degree.

  • Shipman Agency Workroom
I received a scholarship to take my first-ever prose class in 2021, at a time when I needed both.

  • Artist Trust EDGE Professional Development Program for Writers
As a member of the first cohort of EDGE writers, I received much-needed financial assistance.

  • Hugo House
Beloved Hugo House offered support from time to time, when I needed it.

I am also grateful to Christina Balch, who listened to what I wanted in a website and then made it happen; to my sister-in-law, Celia Creek, who made the beautiful cover for my chapbook, from which we extrapolated to make this site; and to the amazing photographer, Mia Foster.

Molly Dempsey, thanks for applying your superior knowledge of website copy to mine.

Thanks to everyone whose testimony appears on this site; I’m grateful for your support!
